The Township of Whitewater Region will have a new Fire Chief starting Monday.
The township has announced that Jonathan Wilker will assume the position on Monday. Wilker has experience working with the City of Ottawa as a Rural Station Captain managing six stations and 150 firefighters while there.
Guy Longtin from the Town of Renfrew has served as Acting Fire Chief for Whitewater Region since August. Whitewater Region Mayor Hal Johnson said the township welcomes Wilker with open arms to help keep the community safe.
