Eastern Ontario is welcoming a new OPP Commander to its ranks.

Chris Harkins will be taking the reins as Chief Superintendent and Regional Commander following the retirement of former commander, Dan Redmond.

Harkins has over 25 years of experience as an officer and is originally from Pembroke.

He’s spent time in Killaloe and Upper Ottawa serving as commander of the surveillance unit, in provincial intelligence and in organized crime operations.
