This weekend teams will be going head-to-head in Madawaska Valley’s creative wood-stacking competition.

Entering its second year, the competition began as a way to embrace some local heritage and make a spectacle of it in the process.

Culture and Tourism Coordinator Anya Gansterer says the teams took to the competition well last year and it was a success in terms of tying it into a local way of life.

Gansterer says the competition has drawn in participants from all over the valley including those with logging and forestry backgrounds.

The stacking competition begins on Saturday, September 10th and runs from 10:00am until 4:00pm at the Barry’s Bay Railway Station.
