Summertime is here and the living is photo worthy.

Madawaska Valley is launching a summer photo contest to generate images that will show how beautiful the community is. It’s asking people to send in images until the end of July.

Photos can be submitted in one of four categories. They are Hometown Pride; Out and About; People, Pets and Wildlife; and Eats and Treats.

Township Recreation Co-ordinator Hannah Gutoskie says council approved launching the contest, believing it will generate great images that can showcase the area.

“This is the first time we’re doing this contest,” she says. “We’re really excited about it. It’s open to residents and visitors. Photos just have to be taken here in M.V.”

Images can be sent in here. Township staff will determine winners. The top photo in each category will earn its owner a $100 gift certificate to a local business.
