Upper Ottawa Valley OPP warn of crimes of opportunity as warm weather hits

The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP is once again reminding people to lock it or lose it.

With warm weather here, officers say windows on houses and cars may be left open. However, this can be considered an opportunity for a would-be thief. Police are urging vehicle owners to roll up their windows, lock their vehicle, pocket the keys, and park in a well lit area. They also remind drivers to never leave valuables in plain view in their cars.

The warning comes as the Killaloe detachment of the OPP are investigating a theft from a pickup truck in Brudenell-Lyndoch and Raglan Township, resulting in some power tools being stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the detachment at 613-757-2600.
