Health Unit moving back to pop-up clinic model as vaccine demand drops

The Renfrew County District Health Unit (RCDHU) is rolling back its COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

The health unit is moving back to a pop-up model it adopted last year as the demand for vaccines drops. They will now offer fewer mass immunization clinics and more pop-up clinics, which will not require an appointment to get in. The Health unit says to watch their vaccine rollout webpage for dates and times, or check their social media. Pharmacies will also carry the vaccine as well.

The RCDHU reports that 89 percent of the population of the county is fully inoculated. The Health Unit says these numbers are in line with the provincial average. They say this is because of tremendous efforts made by community partners, volunteers and health care workers across the district.
