Station Keepers request permission to create train-themed play structure

Something for young children could be coming to the Train Station in Barry’s Bay.

The Station Keepers have written to Madawaska Valley Township asking for their support to build a play structure at the station. They say that through all their programming and festivals, not a lot is available for young children. They also believe that the park-like space around the Station is underutilized, and would like to build a train-themed structure for kids.

The Station Keepers would like to consult with the Township to make sure the structure meets safety standards. The Keepers say they will shoulder the costs of the project. Madawaska Valley council will discuss the proposal at their next meeting.
