The County of Renfrew is expanding childcare for healthcare and front line workers, at no cost to their families.

Partnering with the Province and the Renfrew County District Health Unit, they will open a location at the Deep River Nursery School and Child Care Centre (87 Brockhouse Way) on June 3rd. The location joins two others at Cathedral Garden Child Care Centre in Pembroke, and Child’s Paradise Day Care Centre in Renfrew. The spaces are open for children that are up to school age.

Chair of the County of Renfrew Social Services Committee James Brose said that working with the province and licensed childcare providers, they can continue to ensure that those that care for the community’s most vulnerable will make sure their children are looked after. In addition to healthcare workers, grocery store and pharmacy workers, retirement home workers, firefighters, police officers, power workers and staff working in homeless shelters are just a few who apply for free daycare under the province’s emergency order. Applications for spots can be found on the Renfrew County website.
