RBC Bluesfest for 2020 is cancelled in Ottawa.
Executive Director of RBC Bluesfest, Mark Monahan announced the cancellation this morning saying even a month ago, the idea that the 27th edition of the festival not being held was unthinkable. But it will not be happening in light of the serious situation and after listening to advice from healthcare and government officials and concerns from patrons.
In the announcement, all ticket purchasers will be entitled to a full refund. Monahan says before you choose to refund your ticket, they are working to reschedule performers for next year. They encourage people to think about keeping their ticket for 2021. RBC Bluesfest has committed to keeping staff employed and working on next year’s event.
The event was originally set for July 9th to 19th.
Monahan thanks ticket purchasers for over 26 years of ongoing support.
