An assault in Pembroke has Upper Ottawa OPP looking for a driver.

The incident occurred last week when a person was assaulted with an edged weapon near a parking lot on the 400 block of Nelson Street in Pembroke. The incident took place after 10 AM last Friday, when the victim had been driving a motor vehicle and struck the accused prior to the assault. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 27 year old Pembroke resident has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and criminal harassment. Another driver, a 38 year-old Pembroke Resident, is currently wanted on charges of dangerous operation, Assault and Assault with a weapon. OPP believe the incident is not a random act at this time, and says there is no threat to public safety. They say due to a domestic dispute aspect to the investigation, the name of the accused persons has been withheld to protect the identity of the victims.

The investigation is continuing.
