The Liberal Candidate for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke wants to address the low levels of economic output.

Ruben Marini says he is running because he felt the riding did not have the representation it deserves. He says that he has been in the community for thirty years, and he is not happy with the representation the riding has received. He says the county has been falling behind the rest of the province in terms of economic development, despite a good economy nationally. He points to the fact the riding has a high unemployment rate and has a higher percentage of residents on government assistance. He says the riding needs economic development and that all government programs are based on a good economy. He says if he is elected as the riding’s member of parliament, he will develop the economy of Renfrew County. Part of that development will include more job opportunities that will include better salaries. He says that the government will also assist with developing education and skills, and provide housing assistance.

Marini says he plans to offer more assistance to seniors and young families to help offset the high cost of living. He also says that the Liberals will offer tax credits, along with offering other programs to make sure families can keep their standard of living. On climate change he says the Liberals will continue to implement policies that will lower Canada’s carbon footprint. In the short term for future flooding, Marini says the Liberals will implement a low-cost flooding insurance program and assist with relocation if necessary. He says the party will also complete flood maps so people can make an informed decision about where they can relocate. He says that the bottom line is that the provinces and the federal government have to work together to meet the commitments of the Paris Accords.

In all, Marini says that he has experience getting the job done, and recognising not just issues but opportunities. He says he is the best candidate because he plans to work with other counterparts to find solutions. He says his professional philosophy is to work with others, as well as knowing how government works. He says he will knock on the doors of ministers and work with others to get the job done.
