A Petawawa woman has been charged in connection to a house fire.
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say they were called out on January 9th around 11:00 AM to a house fire on Herman Street in Petawawa. The say firefighters of the Petawawa Fire Department were then called to extinguish the fire.
The Ontario Fire Marshall and the OPP’s Crime Unit investigated the fire with the help from the OPP’s Forensic Identification Services and, as a result, the OPP have now charged 35-year-old Nikki Jo-Marie McGuigan with one count of arson.
The OPP say tshe was arrested and released on a promise to appear in court on March 19th.
Fortunately, the only person home at the time of the fire was not injured.
