The nearly 60-foot tall tree came from the Bancroft area.
The tree has been put up in Nathan Phillips Square in advance of the 52nd annual Cavalcade of Lights later this month.
The tree was taken from the Ormsby area between Bancroft and Coe Hill. It was a three-and-a-half hour trek from there to Toronto for Weller Tree Service.
Crystal Weller, the Officer Manager at Weller Tree Service, says the tree won’t need to be maintained up until it’s taken down. Weller adds that once it’s taken down it will be sent to the wood chipper.
Toronto got their official Christmas tree from the Bancroft area last year as well.
