You won’t need to cough up any money to stop coughing.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) want to keep the flu out of your household during this holiday season. Annie Morrissette, public health nurse of the RCDHU says that the flu is not your common cold and can lead to serious health issues. For some, it can even be life threatening and she suggests you do something about it.

She mentions that the influenza virus can trigger serious health issues with people who have weaker immune systems. These people are babies and children under 5, people over 65, pregnant women and people undergoing chemotherapy. What about the myth that suggests that getting the shot will give you the flu? Morrissette says that it’s just a myth.

The 2018 flu clinic schedule has been released with multiple dates available in the area including Barry’s Bay, Eganville, Killaloe and Pembroke to name a few.
