Eganville Eager for New Look

Downtown Eganville is revamping its look. The Eganville and Area Community Development Group are working on designing and engineering a landing boardwalk and dock in front of the old creamery, along the river. The idea for the project first came about 24 months ago. One of the project leaders, Don Bishop, says the dock and boardwalk project is coming along great and should be ready for May of 2019.

He mentioned that the project looks to bring in tourists making the Ottawa to Algonquin Park drive, which is exactly half way. He states that he wants to boost local commerce and use Eganville’s assets in order to make it a go-to destination for drivers. One of those assets: the river.

Bishop says the project has a cost of approximately $220 000 which half of that is already raised. Residents can help with the funding by making a donation and in return, their names could be inked in history. For more information on how to support the project click here.
