Madawaska Valley Fire Department looking at ways to spread fire ban awareness

The Madawaska Valley Fire Department wants to make sure you know about fire bans.

That’s the message from Fire Chief Corwin Quade after nearly 40 calls about illegal burning since the township issued a total burn ban on July 6^th.

Quade says a lot of people are saying they didn’t know a ban was in place.

Quade says a number of efforts have been made by the township to raise awareness including signs at local businesses and on street corners.

Quade says the street signs came out of the township’s fire prevention budget for the year.
