Seasonal load restrictions lifted in Madawaska Valley

Load restrictions in Madawaska Valley have been lifted.

That’s according to Operations Supervisor Mike Phillips, who says the restrictions were lifted Monday on certain roads within the township.

The restrictions were in place during the spring thaw to protect roads from being damaged while the weather heated up. It saw commercial vehicles with more than five tons per axle not allowed on these roads.

With the restrictions in effect in February, the township has now lifted them as the thaw has ended and overnight temperatures are consistently above zero.
