Madawaska Valley’s Development and Property Committee will be taking a look at a road allowance at Blackfish Bay and a resolution dealing with the Ontario Municipal Board.
The committee will be following up on information pertaining to the OMB’s jurisdiction in land-use planning within the County of Renfrew.
It stems from a letter addressed to Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne asking the province to limit the Ontario Municipal Board’s influence in planning projects.
The letter came from Aurora’s city council which argued the OMB is not an elected body and is not accountable to the people of each town, respectively.
Renfrew County has not yet arrived at a resolution and the committee will be looking into it further.
