Spaghetti Fundraiser for Ethan Huner

Ethan Huner is known as a working colleague, a collaborator, and a friend. Ethan has spent a lifetime championing Indigenous rights and serving as a voice for countless communities throughout the Algonquin territory.Ethan’s positive reputation precedes him. His commitment to wildlife, the environment and the people who live and inhabit the lands is very well known and appreciated.
However, on June 2, 2023, Ethan suffered a serious hiking accident that resulted in multiple serious injuries and therefore prompting this letter and immediate action by his coworkers and colleagues at The Algonquins of Ontario Consultation Office. Ethan’s extensive injuries means that he requires long-term hospitalization, rehabilitation and immediate medical care.
We are happy to report that Ethan is already on the mend, but disconcerted to also report that his journey to recovery may yet take several weeks, if not months, to complete.
Given this circumstance, those Ethan works with have rallied to coordinate events designed to help Ethan (and his family) with costs related to both his ongoing medical care and recovery efforts.
A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up which you can immediately contribute to. A fundraising Spaghetti dinner is also planned for Friday, August 11, 2023. Tickets are only $10 per person. The dinner will take place at The Renfrew RCAF Wing in Renfrew, Ontario. All are welcome to attend. It will be a fun event with raffles and other activities intended to generate proceeds for Ethan and his family.
