Township to Consider Deal with Energy Wholesaler to Save on Hydro

Ontario Wholesale Energy is making its case to the Township of Madawaska Valley for energy savings.

Council heard a presentation from the bulk energy purchaser which recently signed a deal with Horton Township.

The wholesale provider’s plan aims to put larger volume facilities such as the water treatment plant and library on fixed rates in an effort to cut costs.

The Township will have to consider the pros and cons of entering an agreement centering around fixed rates.

Much of the calculations on the energy market are based off of estimates and pricing forecasts.
