Hastings County Taking Over Reins of Tourism, Spending More on Economic Development
Hastings County plans to spend more on Economic Development in the area.
County council has voted to spend more on promoting businesses moving into the 14 municipalities it serves.
CAO Jim Pine says that could mean up to $117,000 a year put towards tourism in the area, but the final total will be established through the budget process.
This comes after council decided to taking on the responsibility for tourism destination marketing, which used to be contracted out.
