OPP Asking Snowmobilers to be Cautious for Wildlife on Trails

The Killaloe OPP is reminding residents wildlife collisions aren’t just a concern on the roads, but also on snowmobile trails.

Police responded to a collision between a deer and a snowmobile last weekend.

The OPP says while the crash caused serious damage to the snowmobile, no one was hurt and no charges were laid.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs says trail speed limits aren’t just in place to mitigate damage from unseen obstacles but also to help prevent wildlife collisions.
