Township Could Surpass 150 Events for Nation’s Anniversary

The Township of Madawaska Valley is preparing to strike a committee to steer the area’s Canada 150 events.

Recreation and Community Development Coordinator Paul Nopper says the volunteer committee represents the grass-roots development behind the very heart of the events.

Community groups and organizations like the Wilno Heritage Society, local recreation committees and Lion’s Clubs will be at the forefront of the township’s plans.

Nopper says the response from the community has been overwhelming, expecting to surpass the goal of 150 events throughout the year.
