A number of North Hastings residents showed up for Hastings-Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio Pre-Budget Consultation Town Hall last week.
Bossio says the aim of the meeting was to get the perspective of rural communities on what needs to be included in the upcoming budget.
The opinions presented included creating a living wage, benefits to small businesses to help them support the living wage, and more funding to develop small businesses in rural communities.
Bossio says, one thing he took away from the meeting, is that Canada needs to continue to expand its global presence, but in a sustainable way.
Bossio says the information brought forward during the town hall will be used while creating the next federal budget.
