Eastern OPP detachments are reaching out to the public to help make distracted driving as unacceptable as impaired driving.
This comes after the Bancroft OPP’s distracted driving blitz during the Labour Day long weekend, which saw police lay a total of 29 driving charges in the area.
Police say the best way to avoid distracted driving is to put your phone on silent, and in a bag or glove box.
Passengers are also being asked to remind drivers not to put their lives at risk by being distracted behind the wheel.
