Wilno Outdoor Rink Looking for Local Support

The Wilno Outdoor Rink is gearing up for a corn roast next week, one of its biggest fundraising efforts of the year.

From the Wilno Recreation Corporation Joanne Plebon says the rink runs solely off of about four volunteers and through its fundraising efforts.

Plebon says the rink runs events all year round like ball-hockey leagues which go a long way to keeping the lights on.

She says without the volunteer staff and local support the rink wouldn’t exist.

This year local partners and businesses have contributed items to be auctioned in order to help the rink.

The corn roast and dance will feature local music, family activities, a canteen, a barbecue and the auction.

It kicks off at 5:00pm on September 17th at the Wilno Outdoor Rink.
