Most people will need to go through a pharmacy or primary care provider to get a COVID-19 or influenza vaccine in Renfrew County from now on.

The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has announced that it plans to wind down its vaccine clinics going into the New Year.

“In the new year, RCDHU will be prioritizing immunization services for those at higher risk of severe illness and children 11 years of age and younger,” explains Medical Officer of Health Dr. Jason Morgenstern.

That includes people living in “congregate living settings” like long-term care homes, people older than 65, and healthcare workers and first responders.

RCDHU staff urge you to contact your pharmacy or primary care provider to learn how you can get vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19.
