A propane company celebrated opening a new branch in our community by raising money for local healthcare.

The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation is thanking the team at P38 Energy for raising money for the initiative on the weekend.

The company ran a promotion at its new Barry’s Bay location letting residents fill up cans of propane for ten dollars each.

Staff members say the event raised a grand total of $5,000 for the foundation.

The money will be put towards supporting St. Francis Memorial Hospital, the Valley Manor long-term care home, and Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care.
