A strong military presence may be seen in several Ontario communities between now and the end of month. However, the Canadian Armed Forces say there’s no reason to worry, the troops are completing training exercises.

The training is based out of Meaford, Ontario and will have troops travelling to areas near Bancroft, Barry’s Bay, Kawartha Lakes, Hunstville, Orillia and Petawawa. Military vehicles will be travelling often on Highways 62, 503, 45, 60, 11 and 26.

The Forces says it’s the largest Canadian Army Reserve warfighting exercise in several years and it involves 800 soldiers. It’s called Exercise Arrowhead Guardian and it’s preparing the army to support “international stability operations.”

Forces officials say they’re ensuring the exercise has minimal inconvenience to the public. They ask people to take caution when approaching military vehicles.
