Another full house is expected tonight at the Balmoral Hotel Bistro and Bar for a comedy dinner and drag show.
The show, which features drag queens Jade London and Adrianna Expose, played to a full crowd of about 75 people Sunday night.
The show fits with new owner Liz Woosey’s mission to bring in new and various types of different entertainment to the historic downtown Barry’s Bay restaurant.
Woosey said she received letters from some residents who opposed a show that displays a transgender lifestyle. But the show went ahead without incident.
The idea of a drag show received plenty of praise on social media and from guests in attendance. One guest, Kristen Graves-Kuiack, came with several friends. She said she felt it was important to support a local business owner trying out a new type of entertainment for the community.
“Why not? It’s just fun.” she said.
