UPDATE: 5:30 p.m., Sunday, April 16

A Flood Outlook Statement is in place for Renfrew County.

The Ministry of Natural Resources says runoff to local lakes and rivers across the county is still increasing.

The Flood Outlook statement was issued Friday and it remains in place through Wednesday.

MNR asks residents in flood-prone areas to be aware of changing conditions and take precautions. It also asks people to stay away from waterbanks, as they may be unstable.

Some country roads, which closed late last week due to flooding, have re-opened. This includes Paugh Lake Road in Madawaska Valley.

UPDATE: 3:20 p.m., Friday, April 14

Water is spewing onto several Renfrew County roads, as levels on local water bodies hit their peaks.

Part of County Road 58 in Laurentian Valley was fully shut down on Friday, with the Indian River rising. This may affect those driving from Barry’s Bay to Pembroke. Several sections of Round Lake Road are also closed, due to flooding. That will impact travels from Bonnechere to Pembroke.

Several sections of John Watson Road in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan are also closed due to flooding.

Also, Madawaska Valley is reporting that Paugh Lake Road between Trebinski Road and Basin Depot Road is closed due to a washout.

The Ministry of Natural Resources issued a water safety statement earlier this week, warning of rising water along the Madawaska River and Lake Kamaniskeg Lake areas.

That statement remains in effect through the weekend. Officials say the rising water will continue into early next week. It asks people to be careful around waterways, as banks may be unstable.
