Community Employment Services is hosting the fair from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Madawaska Valley District High School.

CES’s Ellen Mantifel says job seekers here have opportunity, as our area has a high percentage of seniors, but a relatively small pool of people who are in their working years. She says many employers struggle to find workers.

Still, she encourages job seekers to not take anything for granted and come prepared.

“Bring a resume, and if you know what employer you are targeting, you can prepare a cover letter,” she says. And, of course, if you’re going to the job fair you want to dress accordingly.”

“There’s opportunity, depending on what sector you’re looking at. You have to go in there and you have to sell yourself.”

Mantifel says 35 employers from a variety of industries will be at the job fair and they’re hiring for full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs.
