Some success stories about tourism projects in the region could soon show up on your social media feeds.
The Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization is releasing a video series to showcase groups that have benefitted from the federal Regional Tourism Relief Fund.
One of the success stories, released this month, tells the story of Hastings Destination Trails. It shows how the group is promoting paddling routes in North Hastings and it includes some breathtaking footage of paddlers in the York River in the fall.
OHTO says it will release more success stories in February and March.
OHTO received about $3.7 million from the federal fund last year and dished it out to 67 tourism businesses, who successfully applied for the grant money.
It was to help tourism businesses recover after two pandemic years and adjust to “a new normal.”
