Tourist agencies from across the world have been given a glimpse of what the region has to offer.

The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, the Ontario Highland Tourism Association and several other groups hosted an International Travel Trade Familiarization Tour. The tour, known as a FAM, is a trip designed to show off an area to influential people in social media and tourism.

According to the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, tour operators from France, Mexico, Japan, the UK, the Netherlands and South Korea were given the opportunity to see the sights and attractions in the area. This included a tour of Barry’s Bay, Killaloe and Eganville. They also visited businesses like the Bonnechere Caves, Madawaska Kanu Centre, and Spectacle Lake Lodge.

The FAM was a “pre-tour” for Rendez-vous Canada, a trade show that promotes Canadian tourist destinations to the international market.
