“It’s going to be big this year”: Bay Day returns May 21st

It hasn’t happened since 2019, but Bay Day is back this Saturday.

Marcia Rutledge, Barry’s Bay BIA board member and Bay Day organizer, says she’s excited to see the event happen again. Bay Day 2022 will feature a kid’s corner with a bouncy castle, a street hockey tournament put on by the Recreation Committee, and a seed planting demo for kids by the Horticultural Society. The Farmers Market and Vintage Car Show are also back, and several associations in the region will be setting up kiosks. This year’s live band will be Odd Man Out.

Rutledge is hoping more people will come out this year, as many have recently moved into the area. If the weather holds, she expects upwards of a thousand people to be out throughout the day. However, with events like this, turnout is completely dependent on weather. Regardless of the weather, Bay Day will happen, rain or shine.

Rutledge says there is still time to register for the car show. Car owners can pre-register, by contacting Alfelski’s shoes or can show up on Bay Day to register on location.
