The St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation will be able to hold a golf tournament this year.

The Friends of St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament will happen in-person at the Wolf Ridge Golf Course on September 3rd. However, Allison Layman, Donor Relations Coordinator with the Foundation, says there will be a few things that will change to make it as COVID-safe as possible. While teams will be able to come to the course, there will be staggered tee times, with one team able to set out every ten minutes. In addition, for the dinner afterwards, 4 teams will be allowed to gather at a time under an outdoor tent.

This year the Foundation is looking to put funds towards the purchase of a GlideScope Core. This piece of equipment will allow doctors to check a patient’s throat, airways and lungs. Layman says the equipment can be used for life-saving procedures.

Teams will need to register by July 30th so the timing for each tee-off can be planned. Layman says the Foundation won’t process the payments until closer to the date so they can give donors’ money back in case the event needs to be cancelled. Registration costs $600 for a team of four. Charitable receipts can be issued to either the team head or individual golfers. To register, email [email protected].

The Foundation is also looking for sponsors for the tournament and can be contacted for that via email.
