Public Health Restrictions in Renfrew County District Health Unit Move From Green to Yellow

The RCDHU is one of the health units changing colour restrictions this Monday, moving from Green to Yellow public health restrictions.

Under Yellow – Protect there are additional requirements for the following:

  • Restaurants, bars, and other food and drink establishments
  • Sports and recreational fitness facilities
  • Meeting and event spaces
  • Retail
  • Personal Care Services
  • Casinos, bingo halls, and gaming establishments
  • Cinemas
  • Performing arts facilities

The province says that health measures will be reviewed on a weekly basis to assess if more measures are needed. Each health unit will remain at their current warning level for 28 days before there’s any consideration of downgrading their status. All changes will be effective Monday, March 8, 2021 at 12:01 a.m

The news comes as all Covid-19 cases in Madawaska Valley have been resolved. In their latest Update, the Renfrew County District Health Unit shows that Madawaska valley and surrounding townships are completely covid free. There are currently 28 active cases in the district, with the majority of those being in Petawawa, Arnprior and McNabb/Braeside township. Of the cases, 1 has been hospitalized and 1 is in intensive care.

After nearly a year since the pandemic began, the RCDHU has recorded 355 COVID-19 Cases, none of which were from variants of concern.
