The Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River is receiving $800 million from the Federal Government and Atomic Energy of Canada.
Some of the facilities will be replaced and newer facilities will be built with the money.
Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon says the money was desperately needed.

He goes on to say that the upgraded facilities will attract more people to work there and produce better work.
He says that the $800 million will go a long way to achieving that.
