There are now 4 declared outbreaks of COVID-19 in the Renfrew District Health Unit.
An outbreak at a dental office in Pembroke is the latest, with the unit conducting contact tracing after 3 positive cases were reported. This joins the outbreaks in a long term care home, a school, and the community outbreak in Whitewater Region declared earlier this month.
As of December 20th, 15 cases of COVID-19 are considered active, with 202 resolved and 1 death. Dr. Robert Cushman is reminding everyone to celebrate the holidays with only their immediate household and non-essential travel must be suspended.
The statement comes ahead of an expected total lockdown of the province.
