After months of construction, the Borne Road Bridge is expected to to be completed sometime this week.
The bridge spans the Indian River north of Round Lake Road in Laurentian Valley. The bridge had been nearing the end of its service life and the County of Renfrew approved a new bridge in May. The County says that the project was completed on time and with a final cost of $636,000.
Renfrew County Warden Debbie Robinson says she would like to thank all community members who offered their input about the bridge and its importance to residents. She says that the new bridge will provide a safe and effective way to travel through Renfrew County for years to come. Mayor Tom Peckett, chair of the operations committee, says that safety is their first priority, and are pleased to deliver a newly built, safe bridge to help everyone navigate county roads efficiently and safely.
