Body Discovered in Ottawa River by Upper Ottawa Valley OPP

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP have found a body in the Ottawa River.

The detachment got the call around 11 AM yesterday, saying the body was just offshore from Mountainview Drive in Pembroke. Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, assisted by the mraine unit and emergency response team were able to recover the body from the water yesterday afternoon. OPP Forensic Identification unit and the Remote Piloted Support System unit was also involved.

A post mortem is being conducted to confirm the identity of the individual, and the cause of death. The OPP Criminal Investigation branch is investigating, and is asking anyone with information to contact Upper Ottawa Valley OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
