The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation will be holding elections for Chief and Council.
The election will take place at the Makwa Center on March 28th. Polling centres open at 9 AM and run till 7 PM local time. Six councillor positions are up for grabs, as well as the position of Chief.
3 nominees for Chief have been put forward: Wendy Jocko, Lisa Meness and Gregory Sarazin. 10 names have been put forward to fill the councillor slots. Current Chief Kirby Whiteduck is not seeking re-election.
