A two vehicle collision left a part of Highway 17 closed on Thursday.
OPP responded to the accident after 10 AM. The collision took place in a construction zone between Highway 41 and B Line Road. As a result that stretch of highway was closed for around an hour.
The collision happened when an eastbound pickup truck had stopped in traffic due to the construction. The truck was then rear-ended by a following passenger vehicle. The two occupants of the pickup truck were not injured. The driver and lone occupant of the passenger vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries. OPP say the driver of the passenger vehicle could be facing a careless driving charge.
OPP say the collision comes as they are conducting their Fall Seat-Belt Campaign. The campaign goes from October 2nd to 11th. OPP say that all parties involved were wearing their seat-belts, which they say prevented severe injuries to all those involved.
