Madawaska Valley Township Says You Can Pitch In

It’s a great way to exercise, get fresh air and make a difference in your community.

That’s coming from Madawaska Valley Township Operations Manager Hilary Kutchkoskie. He says that from April 22-29 you’ll be able to participate in the Pitch In Canada initiative which invites residents to go out and clean up their neighbourhoods.

He says that when it comes to Madawaska Valley, there are a couple of roads that need some loving. He puts emphasis on Highway 60 and Highway 62. He adds that there may still be snow in the ditch lines so it’s a good idea to be prepared by wearing good boots. He also says that you should wear reflective gear and make sure you stay off the shoulder of the road in order to ensure you’re safe.

He says that free garbage bags can be picked up all week at Madawaska Valley Township Municipal office. When a bag is full, just leave it alongside the road where a member of the public works team will pick it up and dispose of it.
