Write Your Own Memoir in the Valley

Become a best-selling author by telling your story.

Author and editor Murray MacAdam will be at the Madawaska Valley Public Library for the next 3 Saturdays with his “Telling Your Story” memoirs course. MacAdam, a veteran writer and editor of five published books, says that more and more people are writing memoirs and highlights the importance it has. He says that a lot of people (mostly seniors) have a need to reflect on the main aspects of their life and want to pass it down to their kids and grandchildren.

With the recent tech boom he points out that writing a memoir allows seniors from rural communities to look back on their unique upbringing. “Older people will write about living on a farm and kind of reflect on a world that has largely vanished” he says.

The course is on February 16th, 23rd and March 2nd, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Madawaska Valley Public Library. The cost is $35 for all three sessions. For more information or to register, contact the library at [email protected] or call 613-756-2000.
