A new record was set during this year’s Smile Cookie campaign in Barry’s Bay
$5,440 was raised this year, which is up from the $4,223 that was raised last year. Last year set a record as well when the total raised jumped over $1,000 from the year before.
The money raised goes to benefit Madawaska Valley Healthcare Foundation.
Olena Armstrong, Owner of the Tim Horton’s on 19407 Opeongo Line, says they actually ran out of the cookies on Saturday, despite ordering eight extra boxes of them. “We’re really pleased that we rasied that much this year. We were going for around $4,500,” she tells My Barry’s Bay Now.
