A severe thunderstorm warning and a tornado watch are now both in effect for the Barry’s Bay area.

Environment Canada warns of winds up to 100 km/h, large hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada expects the threat for severe thunderstorms to end early this evening, while an isolated tornado is possible.

The weather agency is urging you to take cover if threatening weather approaches.

In the event of a tornado, get inside, go to the lowest floor, and stay away from outside walls and windows.
