Local horticulture has given two local students a boost heading into post-secondary schooling.

Last weekend, the Madawaska Valley Horticultural Society held its annual Flower and Vegetable Show which saw over 200 displays from 30 plus vendors across the township. Included during the show was a memorial tea and dessert for Inez Boehme, with all proceeds going towards a bursary for Madawaska Valley District High School Students.

Eden Guidroz, Vice-President of the Horticultural Society, says the bursaries go towards students who want to explore horticultural or environmental studies in post-secondary schooling. This year, two students were awarded the bursaries.
