Lake Of Two Rivers Beaches Closed Again

Lake of Two Rivers beaches in Algonquin Park have once again been closed.

Algonquin Park says the reason for the closure is high E. coli counts, as testing showed 196 E. coli per 100 millilitres of water, which is higher than the provincial safety standard of 100.

The park says staff will be doing frequent testing and will re-open the beach once it’s safe to do so. Visitors are reminded that exposure to high E. coli counts can result in ear, nose and throat infections, rashes or upset stomach.

This is the third time this summer the beaches have been closed at Lake of Two Rivers, and second time because of high E. coli counts.
