Police say the woman’s body has been located. The woman has been identified as 18-year-old Mariah Paned of Ottawa.
Renfrew OPP are investigating an apparent drowning in Whitewater Region.
According to police, officers were called to Logos Land Resort near Cobden after a swimmer never surfaced on Sunday afternoon. Police say an 18-year-old woman was swimming with family members at the time.
Lifeguards searched for the woman but she was never found. After police were called, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit also assisted in the search.
The owners of Logos Land Resort say the resort will remain closed to the public until the police investigation finishes.
